Ιστορικό ξενοδοχείο

Ξεκίνησε ως ένας ελίτ θύλακας για τους Γερμανούς ομογενείς στη Σιγκαπούρη γύρω στο 1900. Στη συνέχεια αγοράστηκε, μετονομάστηκε σε Godwood Hall και επαναλειτούργησε ως καφέ-εστιατόριο το 1922. Καθώς η επιχείρηση άνθισε, μετατράπηκε σε πολυτελές ξενοδοχείο το 1929. Μεταξύ των γνωστών επισκεπτών ήταν ο δούκας του Ουίνδσορ, τότε πρίγκιπας της Ουαλίας της Αγγλίας. Καθώς μαίνονταν ο Δεύτερος Παγκόσμιος Πόλεμος, μετατράπηκε σε κατοικία για υψηλόβαθμους Ιάπωνες αξιωματικούς. Μετά τον πόλεμο, χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως βρετανικό δικαστήριο εγκλημάτων πολέμου. Μόνο κατά τη διάρκεια της δεκαετίας του 1960 ανέκτησε την προηγούμενη κατάστασή του ως πολυτελές ξενοδοχείο.
