Κατάλυμα που ήταν παλιά κάστρο

Το Lews Castle είναι ένα υπέροχο κτίριο της βικτοριανής εποχής που κατασκευάστηκε για πρώτη φορά τον 19ο αιώνα. Κατά τη διάρκεια του Β' Παγκοσμίου Πολέμου, το κάστρο χρησιμοποιήθηκε από τις στρατιωτικές δυνάμεις, ενώ μετά τον πόλεμο χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως χώρος διαμονής για τους φοιτητές του Lews Castle College. Το κάστρο ήταν εγκαταλελειμμένο για πολλά χρόνια μετά το κλείσιμο των καταλυμάτων, μέχρι που εξαγοράστηκε από το τοπικό συμβούλιο που το μετέτρεψε σε μουσείο, πολιτιστικό κέντρο και καφετέρια, ενώ τα τελευταία χρόνια κάποια από τα κορυφαία δωμάτιά του ενοικιάζονται σε επισκέπτες.
