Ιστορικό ξενοδοχείο

Το Dorchester House χτίστηκε αρχικά στα τέλη του 18ου αιώνα από τον Κόμη του Ντόρτσεστερ, τον Τζόζεφ Ντέιμερ. Περίπου μισό αιώνα μετά, το κτίριο αντικαταστάθηκε από ένα παλάτι ιταλικού χαρακτήρα, διατηρώντας όμως το όνομα του αρχικού κτιρίου. Το 1910, το Dorchester House μετατράπηκε στο κτίριο της Αμερικανικής Πρεσβείας και χρησιμοποιήθηκε ως νοσοκομείο κατά τον Β' Παγκόσμιο Πόλεμο. Το κτίριο κατεδαφίστηκε το 1929, αλλά μόλις δύο χρόνια αργότερα ξαναχτίστηκε και μετατράπηκε στο πολυτελές ξενοδοχείο που είναι σήμερα.
